In Person Introduction to Cables Workshop, Sunday 9th June 2024 - 10am to 1pm

This is an introductory session to knitting cables for those who have not tried before or those who have tried but would like some help.

This session is for people who are already comfortable with casting on stitches, knitting, purling and casting off.

What materials are provided?

● Cable Course handout including a range of different cable patterns to try out and practice.
● Cable needles.
● Darning needles, scissors and tape measures for use whilst in class

What do I need to bring with me?

● DK or Worsted weight stash yarn. A smooth yarn (non fluffy) without lots of colour variation is best.
● Relevant gauge knitting needles for your yarn.

What is covered in the course?

1. Discussion of what cables are, their origin and reasons for their use.
2. Discussion of cable terminology and cable charts and how to read them.
3. Learn to knit two basic cable patterns from written and charted instructions. You get to choose which ones you would like to make from a selection we will have for you. 

Important information - The workshop takes place upstairs in the store which is accessed via a spiral staircase. Toilets are in the basement which are again, you guessed it, accessed via a spiral staircase. Also we need a minimum of three bookings for this class to go ahead, If we do not get enough bookings you will be offered a new date or a refund.
