Welcome to the Knit With Me Nomad Tee KAL. I am so glad to see you here and very excited that you are interested in joining us. I know there is a lot of information here, don't be overwhelmed. Grab a cuppa and a seat and have a proper read. We have separate tabs for 1. Sizing Information, Yarn Suggestions and Meterage, and 2. KAL Dates, Times and Conditions so please take a look at those too.

Firstly, and most importantly, the Pattern

The Nomad Tee is designed by the talented Rachel Illsley aka Unwind Knitwear and is an eye-catching, relaxed-fit tee designed for warmer weather months. However I have been known to wear mine in colder months layered up over a long sleeved roll neck top. It is worked sideways from arm to arm to allow the colour-work to run up through the centre of the garment vertically, wrapping around a V-neckline and down the back. It has a very interesting construction and therefore offers the opportunity to learn new techniques that you may not have seen before. There are many opportunities to make this your own too with two sleeve options in this design, allowing you to create either a shorter, capped sleeve or a slightly longer sleeve that features colour-work too if you want it. The pattern includes instructions for both mosaic and stranded colour-work techniques if you prefer one technique over the other. The depth of the v-neck is easily customisable and the project can use 2, 3 or more  colours. The loose, draped fit ensures a comfortable, airy addition to your warmer weather wardrobe and we absolutely love it!

Difficulty Level - What you need to know

Here at the Knit With Me we would describe this pattern as an Intermediate pattern with techniques that you may well be unfamiliar with (and that's ok). Some of these techniques may seem daunting, but if you follow the pattern instructions step by step and look at the helpful videos that Rachel links in her pattern it will all work out fabulously. During the KAL we will be giving hints and tips along the way to help you in our weekly zoom sessions. You should be either familiar with, or happy to approach techniques such as a provisional cast-on, German short rows, stranded or mosaic colour-work, working with three sets of circular needles during one particular row of knitting in the instructions (joining the body stitches to the arm stitches) and lateral braids with I-cord bind-off.

About the KAL

We want our Knit-A-Long to be a social, fun and inclusive event. We will be knitting the same pattern, but with our own choice of yarns and colours. It is incredible to see the same pattern turn into such individual finished projects and to all come together as a community to help and support each other throughout the knit. We will meet weekly on Zoom and share our progress and projects and hear tips from each other about how they have approached different parts of the patten. It is great to feel supported through a new pattern with others knitting the same project. These Zoom sessions will be recorded too, so if you miss a session please don't worry, you will still have access to everything discussed.
